Building Toward Our First Issue

AWP booth confirmed, honorarium added, submissions open for Winter 2026

At Broad Ripple Review, every milestone feels like it belongs to more than just our editorial team. This journal exists because writers keep showing up—sending work, trusting us with it, and making it possible for us to build something worth reading.

We are excited to share two pieces of news. First, we will have a booth at AWP 2026, and we cannot wait to meet some of you in person. Second, thanks to the generosity of submitters who have contributed to our tip jar, we are now able to offer an honorarium for every accepted piece. Your support directly sustains the magazine.

We have finalized selections for our 2025 issues, and our first issue will launch with an acceptance rate under one percent. We are proud of that selectivity—not because it is exclusive for its own sake, but because it reflects our commitment to publishing only the strongest work we receive.

Submissions remain open, and we are reading now for Winter 2026. As always, we approach each submission with the same care and respect we hope to receive when we send out our own work. Our submitters are the lifeblood of Broad Ripple Review, and we are grateful for every story and essay that finds its way to our desk.

We know sending work into the world is an act of hope. It is also an act of trust. We want you to know that when your work arrives in our queue, it is met with attention, respect, and genuine curiosity. Thank you for letting us read you.
